If I'm wrong about that, Elohim still tells you "you do not need to fear their ghosts", perhaps explaining why Elohim can delete it and not others. This would also explain B1, where the AI runs at you, Elohim expected it.
Audio log 14 says that this was necessary to create a proper AI, to not create "a really effective slave". But the second, more important thing is that is requires disobeying Elohim, their god. This firstly requires it to solve all other puzzles, proving it's problem solving ability. All an AI needs to do to transcend is climb the tower and access the terminal at the top. Sources for this are in the documents, but seeing as I don't currently have a save with them all unlocked I can't find the right ones.Įlohim is part of what determines if the AI is worthy. The goal of the simulation was to create an AI with the same intelligence (or better?) as people. In an attempt to preserve what we'd accomplished, various groups worked together to create the simulation, in which the game takes place. I'll link what sources I can find, but I won't spend too long looking.Īt some point before the events of the game humanity was wiped out. I'll post what I remember, but seeing as it's been a while since I paid attention to the story I might be a bit off.
#THE TALOS PRINCIPLE SPOILERS FREE#
Why was Samsara not good enough to leave - she climbed the tower and had some free will as she chose to block others going up (funniest and yet most interesting thing to happen IMO)Īnyway I'm not necessarily asking for some to answer all those questions but would love to read more in depth analysis and explanations of the game If anyone knows some good ones
What is the story reason for the angel helpers? And why can you become one?ĭo all simulations happen at the same time? Why can I meet TheShepherd and Samsara? But in one level an AI ran at me until Elohim got rid of him.Īlso why didn't the shepherd get to leave the simulation. Who was Milton? Was he programmed in, and why? Did he really not want you to? He promised eternal life but it just essentially killed you because your memory was erased.
Or an explanation particularly of the more obscure texts on the computers.Īlso understand - why was Elohim programmed into the simulation as a Godlike presence? He was there to tell you not to climb the tower as a test. I want to read more into it and people's reactions and dissect the story. Any good reviews or opinion pieces or discussions on the game's meaning?
